Tonight, to conclude the series celebrating the 30th anniversary of PALCUS, you are invited to the CASA DE FADOS–or fado house: a place where fadistas, musicians, composers and lyricists come together for a night of spontaneous fado, where in a moment anything can happen.
CASA DE FADOS is a way of feeling but also a place, which tonight is TASCA DA BELA in the Lisbon neighborhood of Alfama.
The DONO or proprietor of this Casa de Fados is the fadista, composer and lyricist Hélder Moutinho.
Tonight, he invites you to join a voyage through the world of fado, an imaginary voyage through the streets and history of Lisbon via the words and sounds of fado music.
This evening features a performance by Maria Emília, a breakout star of fado who dazzled audiences at the most recent New York Fado Festival.
These two artists will be joined by a number of surprise guests, with accompaniment by Ricardo Parreira on the Portuguese guitar and João Filipe on the viola.
